Avatr is a premium EV brand founded in 2018 as Changan New Energy Technology and relaunched as an independent brand in 2022 with capital and technology from Huawei (HarmonyOS smart-driving systems) and battery giant CATL. It targets the luxury segment with futuristic design and advanced autonomous-driving tech, and showcases its models at major European motor shows. Despite ongoing losses, it doubled sales in 2024 and plans new export-focused models.
