ℹ️ About
The Western Han Jiuquan Spring historic park (Jiuquan Park) lies 1.9 km east of the city in Suzhou District, Jiuquan, covering 270,000 square metres, including a natural lake of 50,000 square metres. First laid out in the Han dynasty, it was renamed Quanhu Park in 1942 and Jiuquan Park in 1956, and is the only fully preserved Han-style garden in the Hexi Corridor, with eight scenic sections such as the Jiuquan spring, Qilian Clear Waves and Reeds by the Evening Boat. Tradition holds that in 121 BC Huo Qubing, victorious over the Xiongnu, poured the emperor's gift of wine into the spring to share with his troops, giving Jiuquan ("Wine Spring") its name. The park has a gate tower in Han que style, willows planted by Zuo Zongtang in the Qing dynasty and the "One-Stroke Dragon" stone stele, and is a national 4A attraction.
