ℹ️ About
A Buddhist temple whose history stretches back to the Zhenguan and Yonghui eras of the Tang dynasty (7th century CE), originally known as Guangfu Temple before being renamed to its current name in 1111 under the Northern Song. Together with Jinshan Temple in Zhenjiang, Gaomin Temple in Yangzhou and Tiantong Temple in Ningbo, it is ranked among the 'Four Great Monasteries' of Chinese Chan Buddhism. The complex is crowned by the modern Tianning Pagoda, at 153.79 metres and 13 storeys the tallest Buddhist pagoda in the world, consecrated in 2007 after a five-year reconstruction.
