ℹ️ About
Qingyan Garden, on the west side of Renmin South Road and north of Huancheng Road in Qingjiangpu District, Huai'an, is a national 4A attraction known as "the first garden of the Jianghuai region". It is the only well-preserved government-office garden associated with China's history of river control and grain transport. Originally a Ministry of Revenue office set up in the Yongle era of the Ming, it became the residence of the Director-General of the Yellow River in 1678 and the seat of the Jiangnan river-control headquarters in 1729. Covering 8 hectares, with the Huaixiang Hall, Hefang Academy, Imperial Stele Pavilion and Zhan Pavilion, it combines northern and southern garden styles. It is a national key cultural relic site and a national water-conservancy scenic area.
