Longtan Mountain, anciently called Nishiha Mountain, belongs to the southern branch of the Longgang range of the Changbai Mountains. It lies in Longtan District in the north-east of Jilin City on the east bank of the Songhua River, covers 234 hectares, and its main peak, known as the Southern Heavenly Gate, rises to 338.3 metres. It is open all day.
