Rime Island (Wusongdao) is a scenic island on the Songhua River in Jilin City, famous for its spectacular rime ice formations in winter. When warm water from the upstream Fengman reservoir meets cold air, it creates thick white rime frost on willows and poplars, transforming the island into a dreamlike snow world. Jilin rime (wusong) is listed as one of China's Four Natural Wonders and is best viewed December through February.
