ℹ️ About

Fuhoutang, originally Baben Hall and also called the Marquis Yiyong's Mansion, was the residence of the Qing statesman Zeng Guofan, his third home. It stands in Futuo Village, Heye Town, Shuangfeng County, and covers more than 40,000 square metres. The complex includes a half-moon pond, a gate tower, three library towers, the main Baben Hall, the Siyun Hall and the ten views of the Ji Garden; like a Beijing courtyard house, it faces east in a convex plan. Its highlight is the library, which once held over 300,000 volumes, one of the largest well-preserved private libraries in China. It is a national key cultural relic site.
