ℹ️ About

Yungang Grottoes are a UNESCO World Heritage Site (2001), carved between 460 and 525 CE during the Northern Wei Dynasty. The site consists of 252 caves containing 51,000 Buddhist stone statues ranging from 2 cm to 17 meters tall. The monumental 17-meter Sakyamuni Buddha in Cave 20 is among the most famous. Yungang's style reflects the fusion of Indian Gandhara Buddhist art with Chinese aesthetics.
