A high-altitude nature reserve in Garze Tibetan Prefecture of southwest Sichuan, centred on three sacred snow peaks, the highest being Chenresig (Xiannairi) at 6,032 m, along with pristine alpine lakes and meadows. Often called 'the last pure land on the planet', it joined the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere network in 2003.
