ℹ️ About

The Cao Cao Military Tunnel, also called the Cao Cao Hidden Troop Passage, runs beneath the main streets of the old city of Bozhou, radiating from Dayushou out beyond the city. It is described as the oldest and most completely preserved large underground military installation in China, nicknamed the "Underground Great Wall". Built at the end of the Eastern Han dynasty and repaired in the Tang and Song periods, nearly 8,000 metres of tunnel were found in 1969 while digging air-raid shelters. The tunnels include single, parallel double, two-level and crossing passages, with niches, barriers and traps. It became a national key cultural relic site in 2001 and a national 4A tourist attraction in 2016.
