Song of returning at night to Deer Gate

The mountain temple's bell rings, daylight already dim;

At Yuliang ford, travelers clamor, jostling to cross.

People follow the sandy bank toward the river village;

I too take a boat, returning to Lumen Mountain.

The Lumen moon illuminates the misty trees,

And suddenly I reach the hermitage of Lord Pang.

The rocky gate and pine path are forever lonely and still,

Where only a recluse comes and goes, alone.
