送別 (下馬飲君酒)

下馬飲君酒，問君何所之。

君言不得意，歸臥南山陲。

但去莫復問，白雲無盡時。

أنزل عن فرسي لأشرب نبيذك، وأسألك إلى أين تقصد.

تقول إنك لم توفق، وستعود لتستقر عند سفح جبل نانشان.

فاذهب ولا تعد بالسؤال، فالغيوم البيضاء لا نهاية لها.

I dismount and drink wine with you,

And ask where you are going.

You say you are disappointed in life,

And will go to rest on the slopes of South Mountain.

Go then — ask no more questions.

White clouds stretch endlessly into the distance.
