Spring excursion on the Ruoye Stream

My reclusive mood knows no end—

I drift wherever the current may send.

A late breeze blows my boat along,

Through a path of blossoms to the creek's mouth.

As night falls, I turn past western hills,

And gaze at the Southern Dipper beyond the mountain.

Mist rises, shimmering over the pool;

The forest moon sinks low, trailing behind.

Life's affairs spread boundless and vast—

I would only be an old man with a fishing rod.
