Palace Verse (On the Jade Tower Amidst Heaven the Sheng Plays)
From jade towers halfway to the sky rise songs of sheng,
The wind carries court ladies' laughter, mingling in harmony.
The moonlit palace casts its shadows as the night water-clock is heard,
Crystal curtains rolled up, they draw near the Silver River.
