Feelings and Reflections (A Lone Swan Comes from the Sea)
A lone swan comes from across the sea,
And dares not linger by the marshy pool.
I see a pair of kingfishers perched aside,
Nesting in the jeweled three-pearl tree.
Soaring high atop the precious wood,
Have they no fear of the golden pellet?
Those in fine dress are targets of men's spite;
Those too exalted draw the wrath of heaven.
Now I roam in the boundless, hidden deep—
What could the fowler ever hope to seize?
