新妝宜面下朱樓，

深鎖春光一院愁。

行到中庭數花朵，

蜻蜓飛上玉搔頭。

بزِيْنَةٍ جَدِيدَةٍ تُنَاسِبُ وَجْهَهَا، تَنْزِلُ مِنَ الْبُرْجِ الأَحْمَر،

وَالرَّبِيعُ مَحْبُوسٌ فِي فِنَاءٍ مَلِيءٍ بِالْحُزْنِ.

تَمْشِي حَتَّى تَصِلَ إِلَى الْفِنَاءِ الوَسَطِ فَتَعُدُّ زَهَرَاتِهَا،

ثُمَّ تَحُطُّ شَرَاعَةٌ عَلَى مِشْطِ الْيَشْمِ.

With fresh makeup suited to her face, she descends the red tower,

Spring's radiance locked deep—one courtyard full of grief.

She walks into the courtyard center to count the flower blooms,

A dragonfly flits up onto her jade hairpin.
