誰為傷心畫不成
畫人心逐世人情
君看六幅南朝事
老木寒雲滿故城
江雨霏霏江草齊
六朝如夢鳥空啼
無情最是臺城柳
依舊煙籠十里隄

من ذا الذي يقول لا يمكن رسم الحزن؟

أشجار عارية وسحب باردة تغمر العاصمة القديمة.
مطر النهر يتساقط بغزارة، وأعشاب النهر تمتد متساوية،
السلالات الست كحلم عابر، والطيور تغرد عبثًا.
أقسى ما في اللامبالاة أشجار الصفصاف في مدينة التايتشنغ،
ما زالت محاطة بالدخان تكسو سدّ المدينة لمسافة الأميال.

Behold these six scrolls of the Southern Dynasties—
Old trees and cold clouds filling the ancient town.

The river rain falls fine, the river grasses grow tall.
The Six Dynasties pass like a dream; birds cry in vain.
Most heartless of all are the willows of Palace Terrace—
Still they veil the ten-mile dike in mist as before.
