三日入廚下，洗手作羹湯。
未諳姑食性，先遣小姑嘗。

دخلتُ المطبخَ في اليومِ الثالث، وغسلتُ يديَّ لإعدادِ الحساء.
لم أعتدْ بعدُ على ذوقِ الحماة، فأرسلتُ أختَ زوجي الصغرى لتذوقه أوّلاً.
العروس الجديدة / The New Bride
On the third day, she descends to the kitchen,
washes her hands, and prepares a soup.
Not yet knowing her mother-in-law's tastes,
she sends it first to the young sister-in-law to try.
