Composed on the Same Subject: Visiting Immortal Temples
On the Immortal Terrace I first gaze upon the Five Cities Tower,
As the landscape, cold and still, clears after the overnight rain.
Mountain hues stretch far to meet the Qin trees at dusk;
The sound of washing blocks drifts near, heralding autumn in the Han palace.
Sparse pine shadows fall, the empty altar lies in quiet;
Fine grass exhales its fragrance, the small grotto deep in seclusion.
Why need one seek beyond the world of men?
Even here on earth there exists the Hill of Cinnabar.
