Orioles sing and swallows chatter of the new year;
From Mayi and Longdui, how many thousand miles the road?
My home lies in Qin City, near the Han parklands;
My heart follows the bright moon to the lands of the Hu.
In the loom, brocade words weave endless grief;
On the upper floor, flowering branches mock my solitary sleep.
I ask you, Commander Dou of the Chariot and Horse,
When will you turn your banners and carve your name on Mount Yanran?
