Sui Palace (Zigong Palace Locked in Misty Haze)

**Sui Palace**

Li Shangyin

The Purple Spring palace is locked in mist and haze;

He wished to make the Weeping City his imperial jade.

Had the jade seal not passed to one with the brow of the sun,

His brocade sails would have reached the edge of heaven.

Today, the rotted grasses hold no fireflies;

Forever, the drooping willows have crows at dusk.

Had he met the Last Lord of Chen beneath the earth,

Would it be fitting to ask again about the "Flowers of the Rear Courtyard"?
