Heading to the Capital in Autumn, Inscription at Tongguan Post Tower
Evening red leaves rustle, rustle in the late hour,
At the long pavilion, I drink a ladle of wine.
Lingering clouds return to Mount Taihua,
Sparse rain passes over the Zhongtiao range.
The hues of trees follow the mountain, stretching far,
The sound of the river flows toward the sea, distant and remote.
The imperial capital I shall reach tomorrow,
Yet still I dream of the fisherman and the woodcutter.
