Autumn Dwelling at Bashang
On the Ba Plain the wind and rain have settled; at evening I see wild geese flying past in frequent rows.
Fallen leaves on trees in a stranger's land; a cold lamp, a lone man in the night.
In the empty garden white dew drips; a solitary wall, a hermit monk for a neighbor.
I have lodged by the suburban gate for long—in what year shall I devote this body to the world?
