Passing Through Zuo and Lu, Sacrificing to Confucius and Sighing
What was it that you, Master, pursued,
Restless and wandering through an age?
The land is still the domain of the Zou clan,
Your dwelling is now the palace of the Lu king.
You sighed at the phoenix, lamenting the failure of your life,
You grieved over the unicorn, bemoaning the exhaustion of the Way.
Today, as I observe the offering between the two pillars,
It must be the same as what you saw in your dream.
