Happy Meeting on Huai River with an Old Friend from Liang

I was once a traveler in the land of the Jiang and the Han;

Whenever we met, we always returned in our cups.

After our parting, like drifting clouds,

Ten years have passed, like flowing waters.

We laugh and chat as warmly as ever,

Yet our hair has grown sparse and streaked with gray.

Why not journey home together?

Here on the Huai, we face the autumn mountains.
