Night Thoughts at Zhangtai
The clear zither grieves through the long night,
Strings circled by sorrowful wind and rain.
Beneath a lone lamp, I hear the Chu watchman's horn,
A fading moon descends from Zhangtai Terrace.
Fragrant grass has reached its autumn end,
Yet my old friend has not come at all.
No letter home can I send—
The autumn geese fly south once again.
