Climbing Mount Xian with Friends

Human affairs have their rise and fall,

comings and goings that make the past and present.

The rivers and mountains leave behind famed sites,

and we, too, come to climb them.

The waters have fallen, and Yuliang lies shallow,

the sky is cold, and Mengze runs deep.

The stele of Lord Yang still stands,

and having read it, my tears soak my robe.
