ليلة قمرية أذكر فيها أخي الأصغر
Garrison drums cut off the travelers' way; a single wild goose cries on the autumn frontier.
The dew turns white from tonight on; the moon is brightest in my hometown.
I have brothers, yet all are scattered; no home remains to ask if they live or die.
Letters I send never reach them — how much worse, with wars still unending.
