📖 About the university
Yili Vocational and Technical College (伊犁职业技术学院) is a public full-time higher vocational college in Yining, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, approved by the regional government and registered with the Ministry of Education; it was in the Ministry's second batch of modern-apprenticeship pilot institutions. Its history goes back to the predecessor of the Xinjiang Yining Health School, founded in August 1946. The college was established in June 2002 on the basis of the Ili Agricultural School, the Xinjiang Ili Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School and the Ili Agricultural and Pastoral Mechanisation School; the Ili prefectural sports school joined in 2019 and the Yining Health School in 2023. As of May 2026 it has 11 teaching units, 52 higher vocational majors and more than 11,000 students, with campuses in Yining and Khorgos.
