驻马店清真西寺
📍 Zhumadian · Yicheng District 🏛️ 1921

📜 About & history

Zhumadian West Mosque stands on the west side of the southern section of Fuqiang Road in Yicheng District. It was founded in 1921 when Imam Wan Tongde and community heads such as Wan Yinting bought 1.5 mu of land and built a three-bay prayer hall and three ablution rooms. Rebuilt after a fire in 1951, it was closed and occupied in 1958 and its property was returned in 1985. In 1998 a new Arab-style prayer hall of 500 square metres was built together with a three-storey street-front building, and in 2002 a four-storey gate tower crowned with a green dome and crescent was added.
