📜 About & history

Zhabu Mosque, in Zhabu Hui Township, Taojiang County, was founded in the Qing Kangxi era at Yanqiaowan and moved to its present site in 1804. It covers about 2,000 square metres in three courtyards: the middle one holds the scripture and assembly hall, and the rear one a prayer hall for a thousand worshippers that keeps Qing couplets and building inscriptions. Used as a school during the Cultural Revolution, it was restored in the 1980s; it is a key provincial religious site with a history exhibition room and a ground for Hui martial arts, and keeps three copies of the Qur'an.
