📜 About & history

Shizhaipu Mosque on East Street, Shizhaipu Township, Suiping County, dates from the mid-Ming dynasty at the latest. A major rebuilding in 1793 (58th year of the Qing Qianlong era) created an 8-mu complex with a prayer hall, a rolled-roof porch and north and south lecture halls; it was repaired again in 1936. Badly damaged in the Cultural Revolution, it gained a new 350-square-metre Arab-style prayer hall and ancillary buildings, funded by the community, in 1997.
