Shanxi Lane Mosque (Urumqi)

Shanxi Lane Mosque is at 182 Longquan Street, Urumqi, Xinjiang. Founded in 1893, its current imam is Su Wenjie. During the Cultural Revolution it was occupied by the Urumqi Printing and Dyeing Factory; after the religious policy was restored in 1988 a brick-and-concrete mosque building was put up. The two-storey building has 504 m² of floor space: the prayer hall is upstairs, crowned by a green domed pavilion with four small domed pavilions at the corners, and the lecture hall, reception room and ablution rooms are downstairs.
