The mosque was founded in 1856 (6th year of the Qing Xianfeng era); its prayer hall, rebuilt in 1886 in Chinese palace style with painted panels and Arabic plaques, holds over 500 worshippers. It keeps four woodblock-printed Qurans, and the community numbers 4,055 Hui.
