Maozhai Mosque (Xiping)

Maozhai Mosque is in Group 1 of Maozhai Village, Jiaozhuang Township, Xiping County, Zhumadian, Henan. Founded in 1936, it originally shared a congregation with Zhongqu; after the split a three-bay prayer hall and two ablution rooms were built. Destroyed in a turbulent period, it was rebuilt in 1990 with funds from local Hui in a traditional Chinese style, and was registered by the Xiping County Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau on 9 November 1995. The mosque covers 1 mu, with nine rooms including the prayer hall, a north lecture hall and ablution rooms.
