📜 About & history

Anda City Mosque is in Anda, Heilongjiang. It was founded in 1918 by the Hui Ma Yukui on South Eighth Street, at first serving as a cattle and sheep slaughterhouse, and in 1923 it moved to South Third Street and became a proper mosque. Wrecked during the Cultural Revolution, it was repaired and reopened after 1978, and in 1986 the government and local Hui jointly funded a rebuilding that added offices and a women's ablution room. It covers more than 2,300 m², with a prayer hall of over 200 m², men's and women's ablution rooms, storerooms and a pastry workshop. Anda's 400-plus Hui follow the Qadim tradition, and the mosque has three imams.
