Rising Auto (Feifan) 飞凡汽车
Shanghai, China (within SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company)
Jia Jianxu
Jia Jianxu became SAIC Motor's president in 2024 and oversaw the decision to end Rising/Feifan's independent operation, folding it into Roewe as a premium product line, as part of a broader restructuring of the group's EV brands.
📖 About the company
Rising Auto (known domestically as Feifan) began as the electric "R" product line under Roewe in 2020, then spun off as a fully independent premium-EV brand in November 2021 with the R7 and F7. Sales, however, stayed weak against rivals like Nio and Huawei-backed brands, prompting SAIC Motor to end the brand's independent operation in October/November 2024 and merge its dealer network with Roewe's — Rising is now a premium product line under Roewe rather than a standalone marque. 2025 sales for both models combined were only a few thousand units, underscoring real uncertainty about the nameplate's future even as the two current models remain on sale.
