The Zhailiao Stream Scenic Area in Rui'an, 82 kilometres from central Wenzhou, is a key provincial scenic area of Zhejiang and was named a national 4A tourist area in November 2009; it covers 174.8 square kilometres. It is made up of nine core areas, Zhailiao Stream, Jiuzhu Pools, Longtan, Huayan, Jimen Stream, Huilong Cave, Yindong, Tengyan Falls and Ganji, showing southern Zhejiang mountain-village scenery of clear streams, green pools, waterfalls and strange cliffs. The Jiuzhu Pools are nine pools strung along a gorge stream, and the Huayan National Forest Park has 98.9% forest cover. Cultural heritage includes the wooden movable-type printing of Dongyuan Village.
