ℹ️ About

The Yuhai Library on Zhongyi Street, Yuhai Subdistrict, Rui'an, was built in 1888 by Sun Yiyan and his son Sun Yirang and named after the Southern Song scholar Wang Yinglin's great work "Yuhai"; it covers about 8,000 square metres. The complex consists of the Yuhai book tower, Sun Yirang's former residence and the Baijin Taozhai studio, combining a private library, southern Zhejiang domestic architecture and a private garden, with water on three sides. It is one of the four famous private libraries of Zhejiang, and Sun Yirang wrote more than 30 works here. It was listed as a national key cultural relic site in 1996.
