ℹ️ About

The Site of the Xifeng Concentration Camp, also called the "Yanglang New Prison" and known locally as the "Maodong camp", lies in Maodong Village, Yongyang Subdistrict, and Yusa Village, Yongjing Town, in Xifeng County. It was the largest, most strictly run and highest-level secret prison set up by the Kuomintang's Juntong intelligence service in southwest China, founded in 1937 and covering more than 80 mu. The site consists of the Yanglangba headquarters and Xuantian Cave, where General Yang Hucheng was held: at the headquarters, a lake, hall and basketball court for the agents stood on one side and nine cell blocks called "zhai" on the other; Xuantian Cave faces south and is about 20 m high, 54 m wide and over 130 m deep. It is a major historical and cultural site protected at the national level (third batch).
