The Wuzhou Qilou Arcade Street District is one of the largest surviving groups of arcaded "qilou" shophouses, with 22 streets totalling 7 kilometres and 560 arcade buildings. They blend Gothic, Baroque and Chinese elements and keep flood-defence features such as iron mooring rings and water gates, recalling Wuzhou's past as a trading port of Guangdong and Guangxi.
