Wuchang Fenghuang (Phoenix) Mountain Forest Park lies within the Shanhetun Forestry Bureau area of Wuchang. It is a national 4A attraction, national forest park, national geopark and national nature reserve, and the first scenic area in China to gain China Forest Certification. Covering 50,000 hectares on the western slope of the Zhangguangcai Range of the Changbai Mountains, with a 1,696.2-metre main peak, it is known for alpine wetlands, stone seas and the Dougouzi Grand Canyon; the Heilong Waterfall drops 100 m. Virgin mixed forest shelters protected animals such as the Siberian tiger and sable, and attractions include the Sky Garden, the canyon, Shuguang Red Leaf Valley, rafting on the Mangniu River and the alpine snowfield.
