The Wannian ("Ten-Thousand-Year") Ice Cave lies in a limestone sinkhole 3 kilometres south-west of Madigou Village, Ningwu County, Xinzhou. Formed in the Quaternary glacial period some 3 million years ago, it is the largest ice cave in mid-latitude, mid-altitude mountains in the world.
