ℹ️ About

Wangjing Tower, also called the Chongben Library, stands in the northeast corner of the old city of Weihui in Xinxiang. Built in the Hongzhi reign of the Ming dynasty, it was the study tower of the mansion of Zhu Youbin, Prince of Ru and younger brother of the Hongzhi Emperor, when he was enfeoffed at Weihui. Facing south, built of brick and stone on a rectangular plan, it is a rare Ming "beamless hall" and the largest of its kind in the Central Plains: its builders raised a great vaulted roof using arch-bridge techniques, making it strong and fireproof. It was listed as a national key cultural relic site in 2006.
