ℹ️ About

The Tongwancheng Ruins are at Baichengze Village at the northern tip of Jingbian County, Yulin, 50 kilometres from the county town, in the desert on the north bank of the Wuding River. The city was the capital of the Xiongnu state of Great Xia during the Eastern Jin period, built from 413 over six years by more than 100,000 people conscripted by Helian Bobo. It consists of an outer city and eastern and western cities, whose walls measure 2,566 and 2,470 metres around. It was listed as a national key cultural relic in 1996.
