The Tianshan Grand Canyon Scenic Area in Banfanggou Town, Urumqi County, has a planned area of 1,038.48 square kilometres and an average altitude of 2,020 metres. It has intact primeval Schrenk spruce forest on the northern slopes of the Tianshan, and sights including Zhaobi Mountain, Swan Lake, Qiaoya pasture and a Kazakh folk-culture park. It was rated a national 5A tourist attraction in 2013.
