Tianhu lies east of Zhenbaoding (2,123 metres), the second-highest peak in southern China, in Quanzhou County, Guilin. It is a group of 13 alpine lakes more than 1,600 metres above sea level, known as the Caiwan Tianhu Reservoir, combining mountain lakes with primeval rhododendron forest. It is a national 3A attraction open all day.
