Songming Rock, a national 4A scenic area and one of the Eight Views of Hezhou, lies at the Doushi Pass at the southern end of Hezheng County, 50 kilometres from Linxia City, at an altitude of 2,730 metres. Every year in the late fourth lunar month, locals and visitors gather here for the annual Songming Rock "Hua'er" folk-song festival. The forest park lies in the Taizi Mountain forest area, with more than 130 kinds of trees and shrubs including fir, spruce and birch, and nearly a hundred kinds of wild flowers such as rhododendron and primrose.
