The Shimen Plank Road Scenic Area in Hedongdian Town, Hantai District, 15 kilometres from central Hanzhong, covers 6,875 hectares around the Shimen Reservoir. It brings together the remains of the ancient Baoxie plank road, the Shimen tunnel (an early man-made passage for carts), the Shanhe Weir world irrigation heritage site and cliff inscriptions. It became a national 4A attraction in 2016.
