Qinwang Lake lies in the western hills of Shahe, about 40 kilometres from the city. Formerly the Dongshiling Reservoir, it was renamed after the many relics and legends of Li Shimin, Prince of Qin, in the area. Built from 1969 and largely completed in 1978, it covers about 9 square kilometres and is a national 3A attraction.
